<description>I have been working on a sketchbook project since the beginning of the year.
It is a personal experimental study of understanding control vs letting things happen organically (Which is something that I have become aware of in my own life).

The first step was to draw the environment around me in a controlled and simple manner, but allowing the pen to bleed through. This resulted in many dots scattered around the following page.

Secondly, the intent was to connect the unplanned dots in such a way that an abstract unplanned image would appear organically. Of course, with both methods I struggled with control and in both, unplanned organic lines or
dots appeared.

Some of the results are pretty interesting.

You can find more about the progression of this project here.

During my time with Paula's Choice I worked on and designed varied types of projects including: Email Design, FLASH Banners, Web Graphics and
Print Media.

While working with the wonderful design team at Paula's Choice, I not only was able to expand my technical skills but I was also able to experience working with-in the boundaries of the company branding while pushing my creativity for the best solution of each project.

<description>For this piece, I wanted to make a planner the way I would want a planner. The design was drawn from the nostalgia of old typewriters and vintage 40’s-50’s ledgers. I chose a color that gives contrast to stark black images and typewriter typefaces. I wanted to achieve a
non-digital feeling.

		<description>Civics Curriculum Illustrations

I have worked with KAP on and off for the past two years. Starting out as an intern, I worked the director Sarah Schacht and the KAP team on creating, designing and illustrating a Civics Curriculum geared towards Middle and High School students. For this piece we wanted a "zine" type feel that would appeal to aesthetic sense of adolescents today. We refereed to street art and comic-book like influences for the inspiration of these illustrations.

My work with KAP has continued on an as needed basis for print and web design for KAP seminars and online networking.

<description>Going Green on Budget is a custom brochure design and layout with the money conscientious person in mind. The round shape was used to both simulate the world and as reusable coaster design once the brochure has been read. Student project.
